My role was assistant art direction with set design and pre-produced packages.
The main venue for the annual CNN Heroes: An All-Star Tribute, honoring individuals making extraordinary contributions to improve lives, has been the American Museum of Natural History in New York City in the Milstein Hall of Ocean Life, also known as the “whale room,” where a blue whale model hangs overhead.
However, due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the event had to rethink many pieces of its broadcast for 2020. The latest edition relocated the broadcast to CNN’s headquarters at Hudson Yards, utilizing Studio 19X, in 2020.
WarnerMedia’s Turner Sports also helped the broadcast, supplying Studio J in Atlanta – normally the home to “Inside the NBA” – for musical guest Cynthia Erivo
